Katie Laurie takes the prizes at Rocky Mountain Show jumping
Last week the John C Anderson's Rocky Mountain Showjumping in Calgary attrackted a lot of competitors to Calgary, Canada. In the 1.40m Open Jumper series a total of $8,500 was divided in 3 classes. Katie Laurie and June Berrington's Kiwi Iron Mark jumped to victory in the Open Jumper as well as the $25,000 Grand Prix on Sunday. Aboard Jill Morrison's Frangipanne de Toxandria Katie also claimed the sixth spot in the Grand Prix. Tamie Phillips and Cristar rode to a second place, while the third GP spot was for Lisa Carlsen and Parette. The top five was completed by Meagan Beunder (RRC Black Magic) and Lisa Carlsen (World's Judgement).

In the Modified Grand Prix the jumps were set at a height of 1.30m. The gras arena was almost perfect and Kimberly Tackaberry took the opportunity, returning home with a blue ribbon. Aboard Roy Graham's Sophie she left Sandra Malcolm and Pittsburgh in a second place. Chelsea Walsh tacked on her own Phlush, good for a third place. The top five of the Modified Grand Prix was completed by Christine Kveder (Camil) and Carla Strembicke (Cappuccino).

Most Jumpers however competed in the 1.10 and 1.20m series. On Sunday NAtasha Fiorino and Liscalgot 2 took home the $1,500 prize in the $5,000 1.20m Jumpers. Jade Fowler did the same aboard Vanity Flair in the 1.10m Jr/Am Classic.

A lot of attention went to the Jump Alberta Mini Prix on Sunday. Over a height from 0.75m up to 1.15m the Champions were announced on Sunday. In the 1.10m-series it were William Main and Caradon who were crowned Champion. Earlier the pair already won the 1.10m Jumper class. Effie Brodeur and Tea Cup went home with the 0.90m title.

Jacqueline Colborne and her own Ipanema went home with the 1.15m title. Carat F did the same in the 1.00m series. With rider Lisa Carlsen. Ealier this week Carat was ridden by Jessie Prpich.
