Khaled Abdulrahman Almobty wins first World Cup of Diriyah
A total of five combinations qualified for the Jump-Off of the 1.60m World Cup competition in Diriyah. Four pairs made a clean sweep in the shortened track in Saudi Arabia.
Khaled Abdulrahman Almobty jumped to victory aboard the 15-year-old BWP-mare, Dona Vita (Darco). The breeding product of the Brutsaert family was before competed by USA's Laura Kraut. Together with Almobty the mare jumped to victory in 43.79 seconds, being the only pair finishing in under 44 seconds.
Italy's Natale Chiaudani followed as runner-up with the 13-year-old Cayen van het Hobos (Cornet Obolensky). The Italian show jumping rider stopped the timer in 44.48 seconds staying ahead of Ramzy Hamad Al Duhami with the 10-year-old Zangersheide-gelding, Ted (Warrant). The 10-year-old gelding was born as Wanted by Wonderland Z.
Winner of the Grand Prix, Abdullah Alsharbatly followed in a fourth place aboard the Cellestial-son, Chap. Meshari Alharbi completed the top five with the 14-year-old Zidane (Indoctro).
