Kristen Vanderveen 'over the moon' with victory in warming-up class Miami Beach







It might be one of the most prestigeous venue's in the world at Miami Beach. This beautiful location is the next couple days the decor for the créme de la créme of the showjumping world. With stunning views over the water the riders are getting ready for a though competition this week. Today the warm-up class was a CSI5* 1m45 competition.



With many faults in this competition the horses are looking fresh with so much to look at around them. It's not just the water, but it's speedboats, kite surfers and a lot of people that gather on the beach to watch the competition. With free entries there are a lot of people who are watching from the sidelines.

It was Kristen Vanderveen who ensured a home victory with the 14 year old stallion Bull Run's Faustino de Tili (by Berlin). With a time of 25.32 seconds she crossed the finish. "I'm over the moon with this result. A class before Miami I fell of this horse during a competition due to a miscommunacation. I'm so happy with the result today. I knew if I wouldn't get in his way he could go round really fast", she said after her victory.

With that time she beat Harrie Smolders who aboard Zinius (by Nabab de Reve) set a time of 26.58 seconds taking second place in the end. Rider Bassem Mohammed (QAT) then took third place aboard Argelith Squid (by Salito) in 26.67 seconds.

With a brilliantly fast round Michael Whitaker then took fourth place aboard the grey Valmy de la Lande (by Mylord Carthago), while Anna Kellnerova finished in fifth place aboard Belguero (by Balou du Rouet).
