Markus Saurugg keeps Chinese riders from winning GP of Beijing
Not only in Europe there was a busy international weekend, in Beijing horses jumped as well. The highlight of the CSI2* competition was the Grand Prix that was ridden on Sunday afternoon. With fences built up to 1,50 meters, only 5 riders managed to qualify themselves for the jump-off.

And what a jump-off it was! The Chinese riders were very determined to win in front of their home crowd. Rima Da almost took the victory riding the fastest time but unfortunately one fence kept him from winning the class. He and Z Wellie 72 (Celano x Germus R) finished in 43,23 seconds but because of the 4 faults they had to settle for second spot. The victory was for Markus Saurugg and C Jay (Contendro I x Guardeulan I). The Austrian rider was the only rider who rode a clear jump-off. He finished clear in 51,04 seconds. Third place was for China again. Zhiwen Zhao and Fancyface (BWP) also hit one fence and crossed the finish line in 44,31 seconds.

The Chinese riders did very well in Beijing, the rest of the top 5 colored all golden-red as well. Zhenqian Li and Lucky Luke O (Ludwig von Bayern x Rouletto) finished on fourth spot. The top five was completed by Xin Xu and Calipolas Son.
