McLain Ward makes Omaha explode!
McLain Ward and HH Azur have won the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final I (Jumping Speed Class) to kick off the 2017 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final. HH Azur is a 2006 Belgian Warmblood mare owned by Double H Farm & Francois Mathy. Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) & Mary Lou finished second and Steve Guerdat (SUI) & Bianca finished third.

It was quite the battle in Omaha during the first speed class at the Worldcup final. Every rider gave it it's 100% but in the end it were Ward and his  Thunder vd Zuuthoeve mare who took the home win in front of his home crowd. Not riding a centimetre to much in every corner of the course the pair stopped the clock on 59.27 seconds.

But Von Eckermann and Mary Lou (by  Montendro) also had a good start. The Swede was on the hunt for a win and did come close to doing so with his time of 59.58 seconds. But they had to settle with a second place just in front of current champion Steve Guerdat

Guerdat has made his statement yesterday with Bianca (by  Balou du Rouet). It will not be easy to take the Worldcup from him! And eventhough his mare did touch some poles along the way the pair did put a fast time on the clock of  60.06 secondens. Meaning he is in the pursuit behind op Ward and Von Eckermann.
