Morocco revealed their WEG team for Tryon
The Moroccan team for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon is officially revealed. Both Leina Benkharaba and El Ghali Boukaa qualified for the team after their performances at the CSI4* Grand Prix of Bourg-en-Bresse. They join the previously qualified Abdelkebir Ouaddar and Samy Colman.
Marcel Delestre, the team’s coach is excited about the news: “I am dreaming with my eyes open! All riders played their par in Bourg-en-Bresse, I haven’t been easy on them. El Ghali even asked me what he did wrong when entering the ring, because I had an angry look on my face. I just told him: ‘No you didn’t, you’re allowed four penalties, not six or five. Just ride the best round you’ve ever had.’ That’s it. And I asked Leina to show everyone the amazing rider she is.”
“Our goal seemed impossible to many but we succeeded by giving our horses the attention they need. They performed amazing, all of them. In this next phase, some new parameters are added to the mix. The horses and riders will get some rest before heading to Barcelona. “
“The goal in Tryon is a top ten placement. One should not stop dreaming or believing in his goal! I am proud of everyone, of Morocco and the whole team.”
