New Olympic horse for Cian O'Connor

Germany's Maurice Tebbel was still competing earlier this month with Chacco's Light (Chacco's Son I) during the Nations Cup in Brussels. In the future the stallion will represent Ireland as he moves to the stables of Cian O'Connor.

The nine-year-old stallion was purchased by the Irish rider with the aim for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Tebbel informed the German magazine, St. Georg, that the sale was a difficult decision. "However, it's our profession. We don't have a sponsor to support the horse, so sometimes you have to make the tough choice. We would have liked it to be different because this is truly a horse with exceptional qualities," concludes Tebbel.

Chacco's Light's father, Chacco's Son I, was also ridden by Tebbel. The combination represented Germany at the European Championship in 2017 and won the Nations Cup in Aachen in 2018.

Recently, Tebbel and Chacco's Light won the Nations Cup competition in Brussels with the German team.
