Once again American girlpower in World Cup finale

Once again American girlpower in World Cup finale
The second round of the World Cup finale in Paris has just been ridden. 36 combinations entered the show ring for this class. It was a difficult course with several combinations getting penalties. The double combination gave some big problems for Deusser and Guerdat didn't make it in the triple combination. Eventually nine combinations managed to jump a clear first round. A jump-off with nine combinations therefore had to decide about todays winner.

It was a very exciting jump-off. Harrie Smolders, one of Holland's best riders, stood on the lead when the winner of yesterday, Beezie Madden came into the ring. Madden had to advantage to start last in the jump-off. She and Breitling (f. Quintero) jumped a clear jump-off and finished in 33,22 seconds.

Smolders ended on second place with his impressive Emerald. Emerald (v. Diamant de Semilly) didn't touch the wood and finished in 33,44 seconds. The third place was for Henrik von Eckermann. Von Eckermann rode two amazing rounds. His 12-year old mare Toveks Mary Lou (f. Montendro) crossed the finish line after 33,92 seconds.

France followed on fifth place with Kevin Staut. After his lesser performance of yesterday, he stood up today and rode a clear jump-off with Silver Deux de Virton H D C (f. Kashmir van Schuttershof) and finished in 36,87 seconds.
