Paolo Paini takes the lead in the Grand Prix of Al Ain
The CSIO5* competition in Al Ain just finished with The Longines Grand Prix. It was the Italian Paolo Paini who was the fastest around the jump off in 52.14 seconds. He had under his saddle Ottava Meraviglia Di Ca'San G (by For Pleasure). Paini came with this mare also at the start of the Nations Cup from last night and ended on the third place for Italy.

The second place was for the Frenchmen Frédéric David who rode his BWP-stallion Equador van't Roosakker (by Nabab de Reve). The two went through the finish line in 54.25 seconds. The third place was back for Italy with Francesco Turturiello with Quinoa des Pres Turturiello (by Quidam's Rubin) in a time of 54.40 seconds.

The German Mario Stevens came into the fourth place with Baloubet 4 (by Balou de Rouet) who set the time in 52.44 seconds but got 4 faults. The top five was completed by Paul Kennedy for Ireland. He came into the arena with Cartown Danger Mouse (by Harlequin du Carel) and stopped the time in 54.80 seconds also with 4 faults.
