Patrice Delaveau takes the first CSI5* win in Bordeaux
In Bordeaux, France, not only the wine was the focal point of attention but certainly also the start of the last World Cup Qualifier leg of the Western European League. With the jumps set at a height of 1.40m the CSI5*-riders took the start of their last chance to collect some points to qualify for the Longines World Cup finals in Gothenburg.

Victory coloured French, cheering up the home crowd. Patrice Delaveau and his 14-year-old Lando-mare Ornella Mail HDC finished clear in 52.87 seconds. A total of 20 out of the 71 starters crossed the finishline faultless in this class.

Spanish Eduardo Alvarez Aznar and the 9-year-old Top Lulu (by Quidam de REvel) came in close with a finish in 53.09 seconds. The pair returned home with the second place and was followed by Jérome Guery abaord Ginnis van 't Geyzeven (by Cicero Z).

The top five was completed by Eric van der Vleuten with his pupil Marta Ortega's 14-year-old Verdi III (by Hors la Loi) in a fourth place and Current world number two, Simon Delestre with Quechua d'Emeraude (by Ultimo van Ter Moude) finishing fifth.
