Queen B(eezie) takes home the World Cup of 2018
In Paris thΓ© highlight of the weekend has just been ridden: the big finale of the FEI World Cup jumping. At the end of the first two rounds, the American lady rider Beezien Madden was leading the rankings. She was the only one who kept the zero on the scoreboard in Thursday and Friday. Henrik von Eckermann, placed second, had four penalties behind his name, the third one in row was Devin Ryan with six penalties.

In the first round the best riders had to come in last. This means that Ryan, Von Eckermann and Madden were the last three riders to enter the show ring. While a lot of combinations entering before them didn't jump clear rounds, the top three did manage to keep the zero on the scoreboard. Madden, Von Eckermann and Ryan therefore could start as number one, two and three in the last and all deciding round.

Devin Ryan was the first of those three to enter for the last round. He rode Eddie Blue (f. VDL Zirocco Blue) to the finish line without touching the wood. Thanks to this performance he put the pressure on Madden and Von Eckermann. After three days of jumping, Ryan got an overall result of six penalties. Madden and Von Eckermann knew what they had to do... Jumping clear.

Unfortunately things didn't turn out as planned for Von Eckermann. He and Toveks Mary Lou (f. Montendro) hit the second fence. Von Eckermann then already knew he was not going to win this year. He did manage to jump the rest of the round without any penalties.

The last one to enter the show ring was the American lady rider Beezie Madden. With Breitling LS (f. Quintero) under the saddle, she kicked one fence down as well, but she did well enough to win after all. Beezie Madden can take home the World Cup tonight. Devin Ryan ended on second place. The champion of last year, Mc Lain Ward ended on fourth place with HH Azur (f. Thunder vd Zuuthoeve).
