Rio 2016: All but one show jumping horses passed the vet check

This morning the Show Jumping horses were presented for the first official horse inspection at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. All horses, but one passed the check at the Deodoro Equestrian Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Argentina’s reserve, Eliot DWS. The 12-year-old Belgian bred gelding (Winningmood x Van De Arenbe) was jogged twice and asked to be re-presented on Saturday morning.

Three additional horses were sent to the holding box, and passed upon re-inspection. Those horses were James Patterson Robinson’s Amarillo for Australia, Steve Guerdat’s Nino Des Buissonnets for Switzerland, and Laura Kraut’s Zeremonie for the United States (Zeremonie is the team reserve.)

Fifteen nations will contest the Show Jumping Team competition, with an additional 12 nations represented by Individual riders.

The First Individual Show Jumping Qualifier will take place on Sunday, August 14th at 10:00am local time.
