Daniel Deusser, rider for the Stephex stables, entered as second in the ring. He and his mare Equita van't Zorgvliet rode a clear round as well and managed to do it faster than Bost: they cleared the course in 39,92 seconds. Deusser recently took over this horse from his colleague Jonna Ekberg.
After Deusser, it was Edwina Tops Alexander and Lintea Tequila who showed what they were worth. They didn't touch a fence either and managed to ride a faster round than Deusser. Tops-Alexander crossed the finish line in 38,67 seconds.
With only one combination left to go: all eyes were on Scott Brash, the former number one of the world. He and Hello Forever earlier jumped two fantastic clear rounds and did what everyone expected. They managed to keep the zero on the scoreboard and rode an even faster time: 37,98 seconds. With this victory, Scott Brash wins his first Grand Prix of the year. Since he won the Rolex Grand Slam in Galgary in September 2015, he didn't won a GP anymore. With Hello Forever he managed to win for the third time this year, he also won two classes op the GCT in Mexico with this horse.
Fifth place was for Denis Lynch and All Star 5. The jumped a clear second round, but got one time penalty.
