Sergio Alvarez Moya's 'Zipper' to Onishchenko
Ukraine’s Oleksander Onishenko has acquired the 10 year old stallion Zipper from Spain’s Sergio Alvarez Moya. The NRPS-bred stallion has been a notable mount for the top-ranked Spanish jockey. The pair won the World Cup Grand Prix event in Verona, Italy in 2012. Last year the pair finished second in the Grand Prix of Vilamoura, Spain and won the CSI3* Grand Prix in Vejer de la Fronterra, Spain. Moya and Zipper contributed to Team Spain finishing second in the Furusiyya Nations Cup in St. Gallen just before finishing second in the Longines Grand Prix of St. Gallen themselves.

Onishenko has seen great success with his most recent acquisition, Valentino Velvet, a horse he acquired from France’s Simon Delestre. The pair performed well in the LGCT Grand Prix of Valkenswaard last month to finish 8th overall and finished third with Team Ukraine in Dublin in the Furusiyya Nations Cup of Ireland. The pair also represented Ukraine well in last week’s Alltech World Equestrian Games.
