Simon Delestre tops the Athina Onassis Horse Show day one

In Saint Tropez the day concluded with some clouds in the air, but a sunny holiday atmosphere nevertheless. In the 1.50m CSI5* class it was world number one, France's Simon Delestre who speeded to victory. Aboard the 11-year-old Chesall Zimequest (by Casall), Delestre stopped the clock in 33.49 seconds, returning home with his first CSI5* victory of the week.

The jumps were set at a height of 1.50m. A total of  17 out of the 41 starters returned for the jump-off, only eight finished faultless. Morocco's Abdelkebir Ouaddar and his trusted 12-year-old Quickly de Kreisker  (by Diamant de Semilly) followed in a second place after a clear finish in 33.94 seconds.

Great Britain coloured the third place thanks to Ben Maher and Diva II (by Kannan). The top five was completed by former German show jumping Champion, Daniel Deusser (Equita van''t Zorgvliet) in fourth and USA's Georgina Bloomberg (Caleno 3).
