Harrie Smolders has announced the sale of his sporthorse, Escape Z . Meanwhile the Dutch showjumper welcomes a new talent with the Zangersheide-approved sire, Ecclestone Z.
With Ecclestone Z Smolders has a son of his sold Escape Z (Emerald) in the stable. From Smolders' enthusiasm, it can be understood that the impressive stallion will go far in both sport and breeding. "Ecclestone shows all the qualities I like to see in a show jumper," says Smolders.
"He has a lot of canter, power, scope, ability, and technique, and at competitions, he kicks it up a notch. Then you really don't know what you feel and see. Additionally, he's truly a sire with a very good character. I seriously think Ecclestone could become a stallion of great influence because he has top quality and fits with many different mares."
Ecclestone was bred by Willem van Hoof and Yvonne Copal and is owned by the breeders, Danielle Ryder and now also Harrie Smolders.
