Speed devil Gert-Jan Bruggink victorious in Hagen
Under the bright sun of Germany's Hagen it was Dutch rider Gert-Jan Bruggink who came saw and conquered in the four star qualification for the DKB riders. In the saddle of his Zangersheide bred Connelly 2 (by Calvados Z) he turned into a speed devil who finished as latest starter in the jump-off with a time of 44.73 seconds.

It was then Germany's Mathis Schwentker in second place with his For Pleasure son For Success with whom he finished in 45.26 seconds. Dutch rider Wout-Jan van der Schans and his Capetown (by Oklund) had to share their third position with Germany's Philipp Weishaupt and his Asathir (By Diamant de Semilly) who both ended with 46.82 seconds on the chromo.

Italy's Piergiorgio Bucci and his Bohemian Rhapsody (by Balourado) finished in fifth place with 48.52 seconds.

 

Argentinian rider José María (jr) Larocca had a bad fall on jump five abc. With his Cornet du Lys (by Cornet Obolensky) he started of fine. But then at jump five the pair lost their balance after the first jump of the three. On the middle one a big oxer, the pair crashed in the jump which resulted in a fall for Larocca. The horse was fine and walked away on the other side of the jump, but Larocca remained silent in the sand. After first aid he was picked up by an stand by ambulance for further investigation in the hospital. The organisation of Horses and Dreams was asuring the public during the remaining show that te rider was consious and could move his legs and arms just fine.
