Todd Minikus jumps to victory in Wellington
Officially the Winter Equestrian (international) Festival only kicks-off next week. Last week it was however Todd Minikus who took the honours at the ESP National Festival Grand Prix in Palm Beach, Florida.

Minikus claimed the victory in the $50,000 Nutrena Grand Prix aboard the 14-years-old KWPN-gelding Valinski S (by Nijinski). Last Sunday the pair jumped to victory in this Grand Prix.

The Dutch-bred gelding competed at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with Matt Williams. After the Games Wyndmont Farm - the owners of the 14-year-old gelding - decided to quit their cooperation with Williams.

This time the pair crossed the finish in 39.032 seconds. Only five combination produced a double clear round. Alberto Michan followed on a second place with Chacco's Goldie (by Chacco-Blue). Chacco's Goldie jumped at European Soil in the past under the saddle of Karina Aziz. Michan stopped the time in 40.81 seconds. Derek Braun and Lacarolus (by Lasino) placed third.

The pair was followed by Samuel Parot and the 11-years-old JK Horsetrucks Chantilly (by Calvaro Z) on fourth. JK Horsetrucks Chantilly is an 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare originally named Gilia van den Bisschop.

The top five was completed by Paul O'Shea who also placed sixt. Together with Skara Glen's Machu O'Shea placed fifth.
