Tomas Yofre Flies Three Mounts to Double-Clear in $10,000 1.45m Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake at TIEC
Tomas Yofre (Lexington, KY) and Dasino sped to a win in the $10,000 1.45m Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake on a jump-off time of 35.129 seconds, while Jimmy Torano of Wellington, FL, stopped the clock at 35.817 seconds to claim reserve aboard Glascow de Muze, owned by Isalou Inc. McKayla Langmeier (East Granby, CT) rode Billy on Time to a time of 36.081 seconds to claim third with the Bridget Ennevor and kick off Tryon Spring 2 competition at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) at Tryon Resort.

"The first two were fine - I don't know them very well, and they're green. The last three were clean. All the horses are really different," Yofre explained. "Dasino I know is so fast, so I knew I needed to just keep a pace and win since he is so careful and fast. With the others, they're a little more green, so I tried to go fast, but I also had to manage them a little more."

Yofre has a strong relationship with Dasino and has seen success in both Wellington, FL, and at TIEC. "I know Dasino really well now. I've been here before, and it's a nice place to be. The ring is perfect. The course rode excellent today - I was clean!" Yofre emphasized. "It was good for all the horses, though. The ground here is so good they all jump better and better."

Yofre tentatively plans to show all three of his double-clear mounts in Saturday night's $25,000 Tryon Resort Grand Prix, but will see how a busy week pans out. "Thank you very much to John Brennan and Missy Clark, and to all the clients who give me horses to ride - I try to do my best on them," Yofre concluded.
