Tops-Alexander and Delestre withdraw from 2018 WEG-selection

Tops-Alexander and Delestre withdraw from 2018 WEG-selection
With the definite entry dates for the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, USA, in September drawing closer, several national federations have seen changes to their short lists.

Earlier this month, USEF announced that the current world number six Kent Farrington will not be taking part for Team USA in Tryon. Following the Americans, the Australian and French federations have now announced more withdrawals, as both Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) and Simon Delestre (FRA) have confirmed that they will not be competing in Tryon.

On behalf of Tops-Alexander, her national federation Equestrian Australia (EA) has announced that she would still want to play an active role with the team that will attend the WEG and that she has kindly offered to provide assistance and advice.

Considering the risks of the long travel – and multiple rounds jumped at any championship, Philippe Berthol, the owner of Delestre's horse Hermès Ryan, has decided that Hermès Ryan will not be taking part.
