Ward McLain and HH Azur take ultimate win at WEF 7 Grand Prix
Olympic coursebuilder, Anthony D'Ambrosio had designed a technical course for the 40 starters in the international five star Grand Prix at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.

A total of 380,000 US Dollar was to be shared. Eventually 12 combinations qualified for the Jump-Off. First to start was Emily Moffit with Hilfiger van de Olmenhoeve (by Dulf van den Bisschop). Aboard Robert Van den Branden's breeding product Moffit crossed the finish in 45.879 seconds, eventually placing seventh.

The final Jump-Off was a clash of the titans with a total of seven combinations at the start. Ward McLain and the 11-years-old Belgium-bred sBs-mare, HH Azur (by Thunder vd Zuuthoeve) stopped the time in 39.708 seconds claiming the ultimate victory.

Eric Lamaze and the 14-years-old Fine Lady 5 (by Forsyth FRH) had to be satisfied with his runner-up position. Lamaze stopped the clock in 40,074 seconds and was followed by Sergio Alvarez Moya and the Dutch-bred Arrayan (by Baloubet du Rouet) in a third spot.

The top five was completed by Cian O'Connor (Good Luck) and Daniel Deusser (Cornet d'Amor) in a fourth and fifth place.
