"John Whitaker will always be my role model. I think my riding style is very similar to his, he is a real horseman and excels in his natural feeling. His track record is also very impressive. To me he is the rider who has always managed to keep his simplicity in riding. Whitaker has such a natural way of riding. It's as if he 'just sits on his horse' and does as little as possible. Of course everyone who has ever jumped at a higher level knows that is absolutely not the case. However, his natural talent makes it seem that way. He will always be my biggest idol".
