Traverse City Horse Shows is proud to host the $100,000 USHJA WCHR Central Hunter Spectacular at Flintfields Horse Park on Saturday, June 25. This special class will showcase the top hunters in the country, and will offer professional, amateur and junior riders the opportunity to shine in a two-round classic format at 3’6”, 3’9” or 4’0” in the Turtle Creek Hotel & Casino International Ring.
The Spectacular is the culmination of World Championship Hunter Rider week held, June 22 – 26 during Traverse City Spring Horse III. As a WCHR event, members will earn points in eligible classes throughout the week towards regional and national year-end awards as well as to qualify for the WCHR Finals held during The Capital Challenge in Upper Marlboro, Maryland next fall. “We are excited to add this prestigious class to Traverse City during our three-week spring series,” said Show Manager Michael Morrissey, “We love that we are able to offer our hunter riders high profile classes throughout the spring and summer to compete against other top horses and to earn great prize money and awards. It will be the perfect complement to our second year of the Traverse City Hunter & Derby Finals which culminates at the season with the American Gold Cup in the Fall.”
