Will Maikel Van der Vleuten write history in Paris?

 
We might live this weekend an exciting Grand Prix which can become a milestone in the history of professional equestrianism.
 
It all started in Geesteren two weeks ago, when the Dutchman proclaim himself the undisputed leader of the CSI5* Twente Grand Prix with his 11yo mare Dana Blue. A very special moment for the rider who repeated the triumph of his father Eric, 10 years ago in the same comeptition. It was a weekend of celebration for the rider and his fantastic mare, who along with the rest of the Dutch team, also managed to finish second in the Nations Cup.
 
The following week, Maikel was competing at the Longines Global Champions Tour, in which Maikel is ranked fourth, this time in Monaco. For this occasionhe was riding  Beauville Z, a 9yo horse that Maikel planned to gradually introduce to the high competition to, finally secure him in the top, next season. Surprise for all when, after a tight jum off between ten riders, the fast-promising Beauville Z managed to overcome the difficult score Bassem Mohammed had imposed. "It's amazing how the horse gave everything for me. I thought it was too early to take him to a competition of such a level and I am really pleasantly surprised."
 
Thanks to this feat, Maikel, who is sponsored by the Spanish brand Massimo Dutti, is qualified for the Super Grand Prix at the GC Playoffs in Prague "on other occasions I have been close to qualify, but now I’m already in, I’m delighted"
 
And so, this weekend Maikel arrives in France with the opportunity to make history. Three 5* Grand Prix in a row, with three different horses. On Saturday 6^thJuly, at 7.15pm, the "Champs de Mars" will host the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Paris, in which Maikel and his veteran Verdi TN, a horse that gave him the victory with his team, Madrid in Motion, in the final of the GC Playoffs of Prague last season will be fighting with ambition to make history in the equestrian world. 
Will they make it?
