Richard Howley came closest with a time of 64.69 seconds. For this he counted on the KWPN stallion Fame (by Harley). Third place also went to an Irish rider: Harry Allen rode Pembroke (by Clarimo) to the finish in 64.92 seconds, leaving the wood untouched.
Andres Vereecke (In the Mood) and Michel Hecart (Simolo de la Roque Z) completed the top five in fourth and fifth place.
