Daniel Deusser and Kiana van het Herdershof take winning start in last week WEF

The last week of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington has begun. The week kicked off with a 1.45m high opening class. Over two rounds, Daniel Deusser proved to be the best in the saddle of Kiana van het Herdershof (v. Toulon).

The thirteen years old mare of Toulon was put on top by the German Daniel Deusser. The pair stayed ahead of another German duo and left Richard Vogel in place two with Accoton PS (v. A Pikachu de Muze). With only 0,03 seconds difference, Alex Matz followed in third place on Cashew CR (v. Cassini II).

Nayel Nassar missed the top three by a hair as the Egyptian rider finished just 0,05 seconds later than Matz and had to settle for four with Linguini de La Pomme (v. Marius Claudius). Fifth place was taken by Katherine A. Dinan and Atika des Hauts Vents (v. Rock'N Roll Semilly).

In the class over 1.40m only two riders were able to go double clear. Capt. Brian Cournane rode the fastest time on Emily 183. Alex Matz was able to do one place better than in the main class and took second place in the saddle of Ikigai. Sam Walker topped of the top three with Equine America Ivanhoe GPH.
