Guery wins CSI5* Grand Prix of Knokke in front of homeaudience

In Knokke, a busy international weekend just ended with the Grand Prix of the CSI5* competition. The riders were presented with a tough course: of the 48 competitors, only nine were able to keep the zero in the basic course. With the world's top three in the jump-off, it promised to be a very exciting denouement. The first rider to go clear and very fast was Jerome Guery. With his future Olympic partner Quel Homme de Hus (by Quidam de Revel) he jumped a clear round in 38,98 seconds.

Until the last rider, no one had been able to improve on Guery's time. Scott Brash was the only one standing between Guery and the Grand Prix victory. However, Scott Brash also failed to keep the zero. He jumped a fast round with Hello Vincent (by Consul DI Vie Z) but missed one pole. That earned them fourth place.

Kevin Staut and Bulgarie d'Engandou (by Vargas de Ste Hermelle) took home second place. They could keep the zero and finished in 45.26 seconds. Max Kühner and Elektric Blue P (by Eldorado vd Zeshoek) took third place. They jumped the fastest round but got one fault behind their name.

Lilie Keenan (Fasther) completed the top five.
