Felix Hassmann says goodbye to his career horse SL Brazonado

The German rider Felix Hassmann says goodbye to his top horse SL Brazonado. The now seventeen-year-old gelding will continue his sport career with a youth rider who will start in the lower classes. "It is time to withdraw him from the higher classes," says Felix Hassmann.

"You are my superstar!", with these loving words Felix Hassmann said goodbye to his SL Brazonado (by SI Baluarte). At the age of six he got the now 17-year-old grey gelding from Joaquim Souzaleao of Brazil under the saddle. "11 years later we will end our career together and take him out of the international sport. I owe him so much, he is just incredible, you can't put it into words how many races he won in his career and what a strong character he has. It was never boring with him. Now it's time to withdraw him from the higher level."

"We have thought about this for a very long time," says Felix Hassmann. "He will now ride some more smaller jumping competitions with a 13-year-old boy, and I think Brazonado will also teach him a lot for the future, and he is not far from me either," Felix Hassmann said. "I have to thank Brazonado for the many, many beautiful moments, I have never had a horse with such a character."
