Simon Delestre parts ways with his Olympic horse

On his social media, French show jumping rider, Simon Delestre has announced the departure of his Olympic horse. In Tokyo, Delestre represented France in the team competition with the 10-year-old grey-gelding, Berlux Z (Berlin).

The pair set a double faultless competition with just one time penalty in Tokyo. Earlier, in July, the combination jumped to the fourth place in the CSI5* Grand Prix of Valkenswaard.

Delestre and the grey were a combination for over two years. The pair jumped on stage in the 1.50-1.55m CSI5* LGCT Doha and in St Tropez.

"Unfortunately saying goodbye is also a part of our sport," Delestre states. "I want to thank the owners for their trust and wish the new combination all the best."
