Marschall wins Vilamoura's Grand Prix before Marlon Zanotelli
In Vilamoura, the Grand Prix of the 3-star competition has just been ridden. 63 combinations entered the show ring for this 1,50m class, but only 11 of them managed to jump a clear first round, qualifying themselves for the jump-off.

In that jump-off it was the German rider Marcel Marschall who speeded to victory. With the 16-year old KWPN gelding Undercontract (f. Andiamo) under the saddle, he jumped a clear jump-off in 37,19 seconds. With this time he beat the Brazilian rider Marlon Modolo Zanotelli who ended on second place. Zanotelli left the wood untouched with Celena VDL (f. Mr. Blue) and finished in 38,81 seconds. The top three was completed by Reynald Angot. His 11-year old Selle Français mare Symphonie des Boches (f. Kannan) didn't touch the fences and finished in 39,44 seconds.

Emily Ward ended on fourth place with Remi Cavalleri (f. Handel II). Laura Renwick and Top Dollar VI (f. Dollar du Murier) followed on fifth place.

Earlier today a 1,40m class was ridden as well. The victory went to the British rider Timothy Paige. He rode his 12-year old gelding Steady The Helm (f. Tikkanen) to the finish line in 56,97 seconds, leaving the wood untouched. With this time, he was almost a second faster than Marc Bettinger who ended on second place with Vesta de Coquerie (f. Indoctro). This combination jumped a clear round in 57,97 seconds. Cecilie Hatteland and Vesta III (f. Andiamo) took account of the third place. This KWPN-mare left the wood untouched and finished in 58,91 seconds.

The fourth place was for the American lady rider Brittany Albrecq. With Apart (f. Eurocommerce Washington) under the saddle, she jumped a clear round in 62,10 seconds. Chloe Aston and Cecilia (f. Coronado) followed on fifth place.

In the 1,10m class, it was Vanessa Jobson-Scott who rode to victory with Arthur vd Helle (f. Concorde). Alexandra Martel (Unefleche A Saiguede) and Aline Domaingo (Amasada) completed the podium.
