El Torreo de Muze, Stal De Muze's five-star Grand Prix stallion, has died. The unexpected death is reported by Stal De Muze's team.
The message on social media reads, "It is with a heavy heart that we write this message. This morning, El Torreo de Muze sadly passed away. The 13-year-old grey stallion was on his way to the GCT/GCL in Monaco to compete in the five-star competition, but a severe colic attack decided otherwise."
The 13-year-old son of Taran de La Pomme enjoyed his training under Walter Lelie before ending up with Brazilian Bernardo Cardoso De Resende Alves in early March 2017. The Brazilian rider trained the gray stallion from young horse to the highest level. Together the duo captured gold in the Grand Prix classes of Lier, Opglabbeek, among others, but the World Cup in Rabat is also on their list of honors.
Their most recent win was the CSI4* 1.50m class early this month in Geesteren, the Netherlands. There they also took bronze in the 1.55m Grand Prix.
In total, he brought in 200,790 euros and found a podium spot 26 times, including 12 times on the highest scaffold. This year, the stallion had an average of 60% of the classes he started with a clear round. (Learn more -> Jumpr app)
