Luciana Diniz' former Grand Prix-horse, As-Taro (by Azett) will enjoy his retirement. Diniz has announced the news on her Facebook page. The combination competed at an international CSI5* Grand Prix level, a difficult task as the gelding had a strong developed artritis in his neck. Together with Lady Lindenhof, As-Taro will enjoy his last years at the Haras de Meauty. Diniz writes: "#sundaystories11 - As Taro is turning 20 years old. The nobody became somebody trough the good results we had together in the past. He went last week with Lady to the HARAS du Meautry to be retired with his old friend Locarno. He did a lot of good things for me in the sport specially jumping without a snaffle only with a peace of leader in his month. You must be wondering why? He had an advanced artrites on his nape ( in the top of his head ) and all the bridles would make pressure there and he would shake his head all the time. We found a good solution like that and we had fun for some years. Thank As Taro for all you have done for me. My father used to love him. #sunday #stories #sundaystories#sundaystories11" Diniz and As-Taro placed second in the 1.50m at the LGCT Monte Carlo in 2009. In the Estoril Grand Prix the pair placed fourth, while they finished third in the 1.50m of San Patrignano and the Rio de Janeiro Grand Prix, all in that same year.
