The international airport of 'Liège' in Belgium has opened its new infrastructure, specially designed for equestrian transport. The HORSE INN is an answer on the growing demand for international horse transportation by plane. In total the airport has invested 2.6 million Euro to accomodate not only the horses in transit or ready for their final destination, but also for the people travelling with them. Horse inn2Both Gregory Wathelet, current Belgium's best rider and European Vice Champion show jumping, and Felix Brasseur, former world champion driving, have been crowned as ambassadors for the new HORSE INN. The accomodation has been designed and just completed in time for the next Olympics in Rio 2016. With this new project the airport authorities hope to give the region an economic boost. Certain is the positive reactions of the clients of the airport. Icelandair, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Lachs all embraced the new facility and have approved the new investment for their international equestrian transport.
