Olympics: Germany opts for Christian Kukuk, Richard Vogel and Philipp Weishaupt

The jumping committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) has announced the team and further longlist for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The reserve pair will be determined at CHIO Aachen.


Three pairs will be selected to compete in Paris. The following pairs have been presented to the German Olympic Sports Federation (DOSB), which will make the final decision:

  • Christian Kukuk & Checker
  • Richard Vogel & United Touch S
  • Philipp Weishaupt & Zineday

"This time we decided early on which pairs will participate in the Olympics in order to give these riders certainty and to be able to offer them an individual program for further preparation," said national coach Otto Becker.

The following other riders and horses are on the longlist for the 2024 Olympics (in alphabetical order):

  • Kendra Claricia Brinkop with Tabasco de Toxandria Z
  • Hans-Dieter Dreher with Elysium
  • Marcus Ehning with Coolio
  • Christian Kukuk with Just be Gentle and Mumbai
  • Jörne Sprehe with Hot Easy
  • André Thieme with DSP Chakaria
  • Jana Wargers with Dorette and Limbridge

Next week at CHIO Aachen it will be decided which duo will travel to Paris as reserves.
