Olympics: Ashlee Bond, Daniel Bluman, Robin Muhr and Isabella Russekoff in Israeli Jumping team

Olympic teams are falling from the sky like leaves as the start of the sport's climax is just a month away. The Israeli federation also announced their selection for Paris 2024.

"We are excited to officially and definitively announce today the team that will represent Israel in the team and individual show jumping competitions at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games," the federation announced. "The four pairs who won gold and an Olympic ticket in the qualification competition in Prague about 11 months ago will represent Israel in the Olympic competition."

The show jumpers forming the team are:

  • Ashlee Bond & Donatello 141
  • Daniel Bluman & Ladriano Z
  • Robin Muhr & Galaxy
  • Isabella Russekoff & C. Vier 2

The four pairs have also met the individual Olympic qualification standard, which will take place after the team competition. The decision on which three pairs will represent Israel in the individual competition will be made shortly before the individual competition, depending on the developments in the team competition and the veterinary check after the team competition.

The team is led by the professional team consisting of chef d'équipe (coach) Hans Horn, national coach Jeroen Dubbeldam, delegation leader Dr. Amichai Alperovitz, and Naama Agmon Licht. Additionally, there are four grooms: Phoebe Legere (for Daniel and Ladriano), Brittany Rapplovich (for Ashlee and Donatello), Samuel Moisson (for Robin and Galaxy), and Kenzo Marie-Louise (for Isabella and C. Vier). The horse owners will also be part of the delegation.

Russekoff is already very excited about her selection with C. Vier for the Games. "I want to thank everyone who has helped us along the way. Thank you very much to the chef d'équipes for giving me this opportunity, to the grooms for taking such good care of the horses, to my coach for all the training over the past years, and also to my parents because without them none of this would have been possible."

"The biggest thank you to my best friend C. Vier, who always does his best for me and is my 'once in a lifetime' horse."

Daniel Bluman: "It is an honor and a privilege!"

For Bluman, this will be his third Olympic Games, after representing Colombia at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games; for Bond, this is the second time, after representing Israel at the Tokyo 2020 Games where she finished 11th in the individual final; for Muhr and Russekoff, this is their Olympic debut.

*Daniel Bluman:* “I love Israel and what it stands for. It is a great honor for me to carry the Israeli flag wherever possible and to display it proudly and with commitment. Now, more than ever, I feel the honor and privilege of being able to represent Israel. Am Yisrael Chai!”
