On Saturday only 4 combinations qualified for the Jump-Off in the 1.60m CSI5* Grand Prix at Wellington International. With just some tenth's of a second difference, Germany's Richard Vogel jumped to glory aboard his approved sire United Touch S (breeder: Hans-Werner Ritters)!
Along with Bart Bles and Willem Greve's former approved (elite) stallion, the German show jumper stayed ahead of McLain Ward and Tom Martens' former Callas (Casall). Shane Sweetnam completed the podium with his James Kann Cruz (Kannan) in just over one second.
Also faultless in the jump-off, Darragh Kenny followed in fourth place. Kenny and VDL Cartello (Cartani) stayed ahead of Jordan Coyle with Chaccolino (Chacco-Blue). The duo remained clear in the base but struggled with the allowed time.
Adrienne Sternlicht and Lillie Keenan also did not finish within the allowed time in the base. Sternlicht took sixth place with Origa v/h Zuid-Pajottenland (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve, breeder: Michel Desmet). Keenan followed in the prizes with Argan de Beliard (Mylord Carthago).
