The first qualifier of the new Longines League of Nations in Abu Dhabi already delivered top sport. The different nations got two difficult courses to conquer. Germany emerged victorious.
The top eight teams entered the second round with three combinations. With a total of eight points over both rounds, the German team eventually won the first League Of Nations! Jörne Sprehe and Sprehe Hot Easy (Andiamo Z) were the only ones to record a double clear round. Christian Kukuk and the Belgian stallion, Mumbai (Diamant de Semilly) finished with one jumping fault over both rounds. For David Will and My Prins van Dorperheide (Zilverstar T), there was one jumping fault each time. In the German team, Christian Ahlmann continued to start clear with Blueberry (Contrad).
Michael Blake his Irish team followed in second place with 12 points. For Ireland, Richard Howley with Consulent de Prelet Z (Consulent Z) stayed clear over both rounds.
Henrik Ankarcrona and his Swedish team completed the top three with 20 points. For Sweden, Henrik von Eckermann with the 11-year-old KWPN mare, Iliana (Cardento) proved the star performer with a double clear round.
