Valencia has been jumping at CSI3* level all weekend. Just now, the weekend ended with the Grand Prix of the CSI3* competition. Ten combinations managed to record a clear round behind their name in the basic round. So a jump-off with ten had to be conclusive. In that denouement, Victor Bettendorf drew the longest straw. Riding Foxy de la Roque (by Armitages Boy), he managed to jump a clear round in 40.73 seconds.
He thus kept Dutchman Johnny Pals at bay, who in turn jumped a clear jump-off in 41.30 seconds. This earned him and his Zarkava Hero Z (by Zandor) the silver medal. James Smith was allowed to sit on the third podium step with Lissyegan Luise Royale (by Luidam). The 13-year-old stallion did not come close to the wood and clocked off in 41.44 seconds.
Adrian Whiteway (Chacco-Blue) and Stanislas de Malet (Zandor) finished fourth and fifth.
