Last weekend the Equestrian fashion and products designers gathered at the Spoga Fair in Cologne, Germany. We looked for some novelties... In 2015, the spring and summer fashion for the rider is as colourful as "a field of flowers" and the same applies for equipment for the horse. At the same time, comfort is one of the central perennial trends and is an indispensable factor when it comes down to the clothes and shoes of riders, who carry out their sport whatever the weather. The manufacturers place high importance on a comfortable seat as well as on equipment for the horse and will especially be presenting interesting novelties in the saddlewear sector at the spoga horse autumn from 31 August to 2 September 2014. foto 3 The current motto for riders' shoes is "try them on and ride away". New ankle boots and riding boots shouldn't feel stiff and bulky anymore, they should be comfortable right from the start. New cuts and fits make sure of that. Many riding boots are cut very narrowly around the ankle today, which particularly lends the lady's leg an elegant silhouette. Thanks to elastic leather inserts, the boots fit perfectly. Pretty details such as colour-contrasted stitching, tucks, big decorative buckles, patterned or Swarovski applications on the shaft or the option of having one's own initials placed on the items, turn the new generation of boots and chaps into a feast for the eyes. Colouring up the rider's life Riding fashion is characterised by three main looks. Bright, strong colours characterise the sporty collection. Various shades of the colour poppy red are extremely noticeable, which not only make shirts stand out, but also jackets and jodhpurs. Powerful blue shades and colours like fuchsia, papaya and magnolia are also very eye-catching. The colour pink is not only popular for clothes, it is also being used for helmets, numnahs and ear bonnets. foto 1 Sophisticated materials that lend the garments the highest possible functionality are just as important for the sporty look: from a competition jacket with a special membrane, a summer-light padding in waistcoats and jackets or blousons with mesh inserts and ventilation systems under the sleeves. The classic line with more subtle colours such as dark blue, brown, black, grey and mottled shapes always form an important part of riding fashion, which rely on fine materials to accentuate their elegance. The styles of the equestrian collections have adopted the feminine look of the fashion world, setting new accents with oversize or loose fit shirts. Those, who are not keen on the bright colours of the sporty lines, can opt for the more feminine look in the form of sweatshirts in the pastel shade of light pink, or a quilted jacket and jodhpurs in pale blue or T-shirts in pastel shades.
