The curtain fell on the international World Cup week in Riyadh with the CSI5*-W 1.55m Grand Prix.

Out of the thirteen rider and horses-combinations, eight of them made it into the jump-off. David Will (GER) had the nine years old Diashow under his saddle to secure victory. The Hannoveraner gelding by Diacontinus made his international debut with the German rider, only three months ago. His first 5* class also marks his first ever Grand Prix victory.

Gerfried Puck (AUT) was a few hundredths of a second short to take victory and scored second place with Equitron Naxcel V, a stallion by Balou du Rouet. Ioli Mytilineou filled in third place with La Perla vd Heffinck (Cooper vd Heffinck).

Emanuele Camilli had the fourth and last clear round aboard Chacco's Girlstar (Chacco-Blue) and was followed by Billy Twomey and Diego Del Caribe (Kannan) on five.

Khaled Almobty and Spacecake win Longines Ranking class

Only eleven combinations ventured into the biggest challenge of the day. Khaled Almobty (KSA), in a jump-off with five, managed to keep the victory on home soil, counting on the Stakkatol daughter, Spacecake. The difference between the number one and two was almost three (!) seconds. Gerfried Puck (AUT) put a stop to an all-local top three and took the silver in the saddle of Equitron Ornaat V. The BWP horse is a son of Ut Majeur de Brecey out of the breeding of Leo Vermeiren. Third place was reserved for Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA). He started on Boeckmann's Lord Pezi Junior (Böckmann's Lord Pezi).

Winners of the 1.50m opening class earlier this week, Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) and Nikolaj de Music, missed out on a place in the jump-off due to a jumping fault. With the son of Kannan, however, the Italian had by far the best basic time.
