On Saturday afternoon, the CSI5* 1,60m Coupe de Genève was the main class of the penultimate day at the CHI Geneva. The Swiss are on fire in front of their home crowd, with a win for Steve Guerdat and Venard de Cerisy.

A challenging course, rebuilt by Gérard Lachat and Gregory Bodo, meant that only a third of the starting combinations made it into the jump-off. Steve Guerdat (SUI) charged up with the energy his home crowd gave him and seemed to have wings on Venard de Cerisy (Open up Semilly). He was the only one to dip below the 30-second mark, staying no less than two seconds ahead of Lorenzo de Luca (ITA). The fast Italian finished second with Curcuma Il Palazzetto (Casall). The Irish colors were delivered on bronze by Darragh Kenny, he counted on the Eldorado vd Zeshoek son, Eddy Blue.

Peder Fredricson (SWE) steered clear aboard Alcapone des Carmille (Diamant de Semilly), ending in fourth. The top five was completed by Seamus Hughes Kennedy (IRL) and Esi Rocky (Stakkato Gold), who also managed to pull a second clear in the jump-off.
