Philipp Schulze Topphoff and Carla NRW kick off World Cup season with 1m50 win at Oslo Horse Show

At the Agria Oslo Horse Show this week, the World Cup season for the show jumping riders is kicking off! The first CSI5* World Cup rounds were completed on Friday.

Philipp Schulze Topphoff (GER) took a winning start in the saddle of Carla NRW (Comme il Faut) and was the best out of the 45 combinations by two seconds. Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) counted on the skill of Grand Slam VDL, a 13-year-old by Cardento bred by Frans Kenis. The bronze came in the name of Kevin Staut (FRA) and Visconti du Telman (Toulon).

Yuri Mansur (BRA) steered Vitiki (Valentino) to fourth place, staying in front of Therese Soehol Henriksen (NOR), who jumped to five aboard Iron Maiden (Quasimodo vd Molendreef) in front of a home crowd. 

CSI5*-W 1m40 victory for Julien Gonin and Valou du Lys

The first five star victory came into the name of Julien Gonin. The French rider counted on Valou du Lys (Calvaro F.C.). Sweden's Emma Emanuelsson took second place with Ladina (London). On third came Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (POR) with Solidat (Semper Fi). 

Philipp Schulze Topphoff (GER) already made his presence notable by jumping to fourth with Corny M (Connor).
