It has been six years since Jordan Coyle last contested the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, but this year, the Irish rider is back in Harrisburg, PA in a big way. On Thursday night, October 17, Coyle and Keep Me With You N.C. (Le tot de semilly x Indoctro) kicked off their time at this year’s show with victory in the $30,000 1.40m Welcome.

With a field of 46 horses taking on the first-round track, set by course designer Anderson Lima, Coyle and Keep Me With You N.C. were one 19 entries to qualify for the jump-off. From there, the short course turned into a hotly contested race against the clock, with Coyle ultimately stopping the clock in 30.008 seconds for the win.

Second place with a time of 30.528 seconds went to Carly Anthony and Fayuri, and Mia Bagnato and Florida N took home third with a jump-off time of 30.820 seconds.

“For sure I didn’t want to go that speed, but the hunger got the better of me!” said Coyle, who is pointing Keep Me With You N.C. at Saturday night’s $100,000 Grand Prix de Penn National. “It’s nice to come back [to the Pennsylvania National Horse Show]. All the horses jumped well. It’s a great course to start today, and I’m happy enough."

Coyle has been partnered with the 9-year-old Dutch Warmblood Keep Me With You N.C. for the past year, and he has high hopes for the mare’s future.

“My good friend, Darragh Kerins, we own her together. She was doing 1.20m, 1.30m [when we got her],” said Coyle. “I took a long time with her, and she’s still not really there yet – but when it comes, it could be exciting.”

Coyle selected the PNHS for Keep Me With You N.C., and four of his other horses, in order to garner them experience indoors.

“Ariso has done indoors, but all the other horses, none of them have jumped indoors,” explained Coyle “For Gold’s also here this week just for that reason. He hasn’t jumped indoors, and so this arena is perfect – good footing, good course.”
