The CSI5* 1,45m Prix Swiss Wine Genève had another Swiss victory! After Barbara Schnieper's first place in the 1,40m opening class, it was Thibaut Keller who treated his home crowd to another win on home soil.
Saddled with Betty du Prieure, Gregory Wathelet (BEL) missed victory by a sigh. Since September this year, Wathelet has been at the rear of the Doremi daughter, with whom he managed to win the CSI4* 1.45 prize in Saint-Lô. The pair was able to finish clear in the second class of the Swiss Thursday program but went through the finish line eighteen hundredths of a second slower than Thibaut Keller (SUI). The local rider, only 21 years young, was able to ensure a second home victory in the saddle of Happy Girl T (Sandro Boy).
Winner of the opening class, Barbara Schnieper (SUI), was again present in the lap of honor after finishing third on Inook, a KWPN mare by Cornet Obolensky. The home crowd was treated to lots of strong rides, with Bryan Balsiger (SUI) and Gastiel (Casalito) finishing fifth, behind Richard Vogel (GER), winner of last year's Geneva Grand Prix, and Crack HV (Cornet Obolensky).
