Today, the dressage competitions also got underway: The Norwegian rider Isabel Bache, won the Prize of the VUV – Vereinigte Unternehmerverbände Aachen in the Deutsche Bank Stadium with a score of 74.816 percent. The 35-year-old, who works at the Bonhomme Stud in the Potsdam-Mittelmark District, rode to victory with her eight-year-old Hanoverian chestnut stallion, Riverdance, ahead of Isabell Werth, who achieved a score of 74.132 percent with the Rhineland-bred gelding, Lezard. The performance of Matthias Alexander Rath, who gave an insight into the quality of his talented young KWPN horse Bretton Woods, caused a stir as his contact was not always constant. The Swedish rider, Patrick Kittel and Victoria Max-Theurer from Austria, who triumphed in the Prize of the VUV – Vereinigte Unternehmerverbände Aachen the two years previously, didn't compete in the class this time. In the competition that is classed as an FEI Prix St. Georges, two of the five judges placed the Norwegian rider first. Isabell Werth was awarded the highest score by two of the judges. The Judge at M awarded Dorothee Schneider the most points, who finished fifth overall with Derano, ahead of the Dutch rider Hans Peter Minderhoud. Bache, who has been living in Germany for 15 years and who worked at Holger Finken's yard for many years, moved to the Bonhomme Stud in January. In addition to Riverdance, she also has several other top horses – such as Van Vivaldi, Bobcat and Stanford. She "makes a good appearance in the dressage arena and has a fine hand for young horses," her employees, Evelyn and Rebecca Gutman, praised.
