In the Prize of the Handwerk, Álvaro Affonso de Miranda Neto topped the rankings against a first-rate field comprising of 48 participants. "Doda" – as the 41-year-old is known – jumped the challenging course designed by Frank Rothenberger with the nine-year-old KWPN stallion, AD Amigo B, with a time of 63.09 seconds. The French rider, Julien Epaillard, who took 63.11 seconds to finish the course with Pigmalion Du Rozel, was just two hundredths of a second behind him. Third place went to the Belgian rider Jos Verlooy with Golden Horta (66.18 seconds). In total, 17 pairs jumped clear over the twelve obstacles.
