From Monday the 10th till Sunday the 16th of August, the finales of the Classic Cycle will take place: the Belgian Championships for Young Horses. It meantime, it is the 52nd edition, and it will take place again in the great installations of the Provincial Breeding and Riding School of Gesves. Belgium is more and more the reference in the breeding of good jumping horses, and the whole world is waiting for this week. The experts know why! From foals born this year till horses of 6 years old will fight for one of the titles of Belgian Champion, the 3-years-old horses also for the Medal of the King and even the 7-years-old will get their part. Their Belgian Championship is always taking place in the beginning of the year, but they will dispute the Cup of Belgium here in Gesves. The Great Week of Gesves promises to be animated again. Next to high level sport, the numerous spectators/breeder/riders can discover several novelties or exchange ideas in one of the several stands around the main ring. They can also follow everything from nearby and in detail from a VIP-table while having a nice meal, of encourage a friend/rider of support a breeder from the snack bar or the tribunes. The horses as from four years old are presented nice tracks in the beautiful outside ring of 110 x 60m, drawn up by mister Eugène Mathy. The younger ones will be presented for their gaits and model and/or free jumping in the large inside ring. About 1000 horses of the age between 4 and 7 will be present and jump 3 different jumping tracks: 2 qualification rounds, followed by the finales or the consolation prize (not for the 4-years-olds).
