The Irish showjumper, sponsored by Equiline, Billy Twomey, has returned to competing after fracturing his back. Billy kept the incident quiet from January until now. The rider is back after a back surgery after he fell from a youngster, just returning from a back surgery to deal with slipped discs last October. "The week before my first show back, in a freak accident at home, one of the young horses spooked," states Twomey on his website. "In what would have nine times out of ten been a simple spill, I fractured a vertebra in my back, which put me back on the injured list." He concludes.
Nevertheless the rider made his come back this weekend at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour at Oliva Nova. According to Billy his back feels brand new and he is already looking forward to the second competition week.
