Madrid Horse Week’s last day session counted with a huge expectation since it is the second consecutive year that the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping is hold in Madrid. The third edition of the MHW finishes off this afternoon after four days of intense competition, shows and many activities all around the horse world. The Longines FEI World Cup Jumping "Mutua Madrileña Trophy", started at 1.00pm with big expectation and stands fully crowded. Christian Ahlmann and Taloubet Z has won the sixth stage of the European League A very beautiful and technical course the one designed by Javier Trenor. Of the 40 pairs which competed, only 5 managed to qualify for the jump-off. The Colombian Carlos López was the one in charge of opening this second round, after finishing again with her 12 year old mare Prince de la Mare with no faults. Behind him Pieter Devos, Henrick von Eckermann and Marco Kutscher tried it too but the three of ended up with one knockdown. Pieter Devos was the quickest rider with 4 points what made him third in the ranking. The last rider Christian Ahlmann entered in the arena with the winning mood and managed to lower in nearly half a second the Colombian's time. The German, which just won last week World Cup of Stuttgart, scrolls up in the list becoming 1st in the European classification. The Spanish riders weren't lucky, being Eduardo Alvarez Aznar the best qualified with one knockdown. The rider Eduardo Alvarez Aznar has mentioned that "it has been a pity those 4 points in Madrid, since his horse has done zero faults in the three previous competitions in which he has jumped and its not been possible to do so in my own city". However Alvarez Aznar added that his goal is to achieve points to qualify for the Final Jumping World Cup in Gothenburg and looks like his on his way. For his part, Javier Trenor said he is "very happy with the coursed designed and the fantastic level we've had this year." Alvaro Arrieta, CEO of Madrid Horse Week, has also joined the congratulations of Trenor and wanted to congratulate all the riders for their "magnificent spectacle and the great display of professionalism they have done" also thanking to all the media for the great support.
