GCT in search for new location in London

640-427Unfortunate news for the London association planning the new GLobal Champions Tour in the British capital. Plans for London’s brand new horse show are in disarray after the planning application in Kensington Gardens were thrown out. Now organisers are seeking a new location for the launch of the first GCT-event in London. On Friday March 15 the Royal Borough of Kensington ruled against the upcoming event. Citing numerous breaches of statutory planning, the loss of access for regular users at the height of summer was the main reason for rejection. The planners received about 300 objections and a petition signed by more than 300 people. According to the Royal Borough, there were just four letters of support — two of which came from the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) and Olympic gold medal-winning showjumper, Nick Skelton. © equnews.com/ H&H
